St. Vitus Campus
Goals
The St. Vitus Church and Campus has been a proud reflection of the local community since its founding in 1888. St. Vitus has been a staple within the community during its multiple uses. The rectory and the school continued to serve The Resurrection Project (TRP) and the community even after an interior fire at the church. This redevelopment will once again bring new life to the St. Vitus Church, rectory and school. We plan to embrace the historic architectural components of the site, along with the community art that has added another layer to the existing buildings.
Results
More than 20 years later, in this project, we explore the legacy of St. Vitus as a center for community and affordable housing development in its founding neighborhood. Through careful planning and assessment of the greatest building assets for this historical site, The St. Vitus Campus redevelopment project is positioned to serve as a new catalyst for a socially-driven transit oriented development (TOD) expressive of livable, inviting housing and commercial spaces.
