Senior Architect
About The Job
We are seeking a talented, passionate individual to join our growing practice as a Senior Architect. The candidate should have excellent communication, design, and technical skills as well as experience in multi-family residential and other large-scale commercial projects. Responsibilities will include overall project delivery and preparation of deliverables from design through construction administration including programming, code/zoning, design research, bidding, permitting, and construction document coordination. In addition, the Senior Architect position will provide an opportunity to work closely alongside the firm s leadership in leading project execution and firm-wide initiatives within the studio. Ability to lead teams in design and technical phases as well as client and consultant coordination is essential to this position. Canopy is rooted in a collective design process; thus, the ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated yet eager to work collaboratively in a hybrid-work environment including field visits for projects.
Requirement For Applicants
The position requires overall skill and knowledge in design, drawing documentation, and construction administration including zoning and code studies, schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents and construction observation (8-10 years of experience minimum.). Keen knowledge of local construction methodologies, engineering systems, specifications, and accessibility codes is highly preferred. A professional or bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field is required. Licensure is preferred but not required. LEED and/or similar green certification is preferred but not required. Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft software knowledge is preferred including experience with MS Teams, and other audio/video virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities will include support in development of projects in design and construction phases including code/zoning, conceptualization and visualization, technical priorities, construction documentation, as well as construction administration. Canopy is rooted in a collective design process; thus, the ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated yet eager to work collaboratively in a hybrid-work environment including periodic field visits for projects.
Requirement For Applicants
The Project Designer position requires overall skill and knowledge in design, drawing documentation, and construction administration including; zoning and code studies, schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents and construction observation (1-2 years of experience min.). Working knowledge of local construction methodologies, engineering systems, specifications, and accessibility codes is preferred. A professional or bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field is required. LEED and/or NCARB-AXP registration is preferred but not required. Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft software knowledge is preferred including experience with MS Teams, and other audio/video virtual meeting platforms.
