Senior Project Architect

Miguel Macias

Growing up in Franklin Park, Illinois, near O’Hare International Airport, Miguel Macias developed an early appreciation for the built environment and the ways design shapes everyday experiences. At the architecture program at the University of Illinois Chicago, Miguel strengthened his passion for problem-solving and thoughtful design.

What draws him most to architecture, and particularly the type of work Canopy does, is the challenge of navigating the unique constraints often associated with multifamily residential projects to create better living conditions and meaningful experiences for residents. Miguel enjoys finding creative and practical solutions that balance design, functionality, and the needs of the people who will ultimately call these spaces home.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with my wife and kids and making the most of family time together. He is a passionate soccer (fútbol) fan and will gladly watch just about any match. He also enjoys being outdoors and is learning to garden, finding it both relaxing and rewarding to cultivate new skills and watch things grow.
