Project Designer
Christina Rasztar
- Registered Architect, France
Christina is an architectural practitioner with experience in both regional and international practice. Originally from France, she earned both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree from the Paris-Belleville National School of Architecture (ENSAPB), as well as an HMONP qualification. With over seven years of experience across France and Canada, she has worked on projects at a range of scales, from urban planning strategies to residential buildings.
She has a particular interest in residential architecture, especially multi-family housing, where thoughtful design can make a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives. She is motivated by the challenge of creating functional, welcoming spaces that support well-being, foster a sense of community, and respond to the diverse needs of residents. She is drawn to context-driven design that considers a site’s history, its surroundings, and the evolving ways people live.
Christina is excited to bring her international experience to Canopy and contribute to its people-centered approach to design, creating thoughtful and context-sensitive architecture.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods and discovering the city’s architecture and cultural life.

What is your favorite season?
Spring, for the longer days, blooming flowers, and the feeling of new beginnings.
Where do you feel most at home?
In Paris, where I grew up, Chicago is starting to feel like home too.
If you could be any material, what material would you be?
Brick. Timeless, versatile, and full of character.
What is the best trip you've taken?
My trip to the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec. The breathtaking coastal landscapes, charming villages, and feeling of being surrounded by nature made it unforgettable.
What music do you listen to while working towards a deadline?
“La femme d’argent” by Air. Something chill and atmospheric to help me stay focused during a deadline.
If you had to pick one word that best represents Canopy's culture, what would it be, and why?
Collaborative. Good architecture is never created in isolation; it comes from sharing ideas, learning from one another, and working toward a common goal.
