Logan Square’s New Affordable Apartment Complex Will Help Neighbors Facing Displacement, Officials Say
LOGAN SQUARE – A long-awaited affordable housing development in Logan Square opened its doors Saturday, aiming to help residents stay in the gentrifying neighborhood.
The 89-unit Encuentro Square complex, 3745 W. Cortland St. right off the Western terminus of the Bloomingdale trail, hosted a litany of elected officials at its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday morning. The two-building development adds a mix of apartment sizes at affordable rates to help combat rising housing prices and displacement in Logan Square, officials said.
