Jaime Torres Carmona appointed to the mayor's Housing Transition Committee
Canopy Principal Jaime Torres Carmona, AIA was appointed to Chicago Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot’s Housing Transition Committee. Invited leaders from institutions and organizations from across Chicago will serve on the committee tasked with providing input to shape key objectives and policy goals for the new administration. The Housing Transition Committee will be an invaluable resource for Lightfoot as she shifts into her new role as City of Chicago mayor in May 2019.
As the founding Principal of a social impact architecture firm, Jaime provides leadership in design and research projects ranging from master planning to design of multi-family buildings, community centers, and single family homes. Recent projects include affordable housing developments such as the OSO apartments in Albany Park, the Newberry Park Apartments, and various projects with the Chicago Housing Authority, as well as community centers for Enlace, Latinos Progresando, and Project Fierce. Jaime has been recognized for his work in sustainable design and social impact in Chicago.
