Garfield Gather
Garfield Gather is a visionary development derived from years of collaboration in West Garfield Park and decades of experience leading mixed-income, mixed-use community revitalization in Chicago neighborhoods. In coordination with nearby community development efforts advanced by the Garfield Park Rite To Wellness Collaborative and West Side United, Garfield Gather will anchor long-term mixed-income neighborhood revitalization that; creates a pedestrian-oriented, mixed-use, ETOD community gateway, delivers urgently needed amenities and services, including healthy food options, local small business growth and employment opportunities, and the promotion of community arts and culture, and provides high quality, energy-efficient housing that is affordable to a wide range of incomes.
Phase 1A of Garfield Gather will empower local businesses, provide new sustainable housing for a mix of incomes, create an activated community plaza space, and promote a renewed sense of pride at this gateway location. In collaboration with community stakeholders, including the Community Grocer Initiative, Phase 1B delivers a highly-needed community-focused grocery store. Phase 1A and 1B are designed and planned to advance concurrently as we work with the community, West Side United, the Community Grocer Initiative, and other stakeholders to secure a grocer tenant.
