Ian Miley, Associate AIA, LEED GA

Ian Miley received his Professional Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 2016. Finding much of his work being more urban in orientation, he choose to pursue his Master of Urban Design from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018.

Prior to joining Canopy, Ian worked for little less than a year at ADG Inc. in Downtown Oklahoma City in between finishing his Bachelors and pursuing his Masters. While at ADG, Ian worked on a historic redevelopment of a landmark tower in downtown Oklahoma City. On this project he developed his skills programming, developing spaces, and documenting existing historic conditions. Concurrently, he also worked within their planning department to work with the city of Broken Arrow, Ok to develop a form-based code for their future city development. Professionally, Ian wants to develop certifications in LEED BD+C and ND with the long term objective of obtaining his Architectural License.

Design has a particular meaning to Ian, he feels that design should be used to better the lives of individuals lives and capabilities. This means practicing architecture and urban design with the community members who will see the design grow and change over time. Along with that, he is also seeks to engage in design that extends the inclusiveness of the city to groups that are disenfranchised within Chicago so as to lead to a more vibrant and thriving city.
