South Loop Mixed Used Center

The South Loop Mixed Use Center, an adaptive reuse of a light manufacturing warehouse, aims to provide specialty health and wellness services for the South Loop and surrounding communities. Canopy was asked to investigate the feasibility of converting this existing 35,000sf masonry structure into a facility housing multiple medical service organizations, offices, as well as parking, and common areas including a vegetated roof and terrace. Through a careful analysis of existing infrastructure and programmatic needs, Canopy established a two phase implementation plan commencing with “shell and core” improvements including climate- and resource-driven strategies such as rainwater collection systems, passive solar fenestration, and heat recovery ventilators.
