Belmont Cragin House

The design goal was to bring back the beauty and craftsmanship associated with the historical bungalows of Chicago to a foreclosed property.  Working with a private investor, the property was purchased and completely renovated bringing to the market a Chicago Historical bungalow incorporating the traditional aspects of wood work detailing while incorporating modern concepts such as an open plan with a natural lite central staircase by skylights above.  A new dormer was added to the attic to allow for a new full bathroom and the basement was refinished creating space for a new laundry and utility room for the new high efficiency forced air furnace system.  The result is a contemporary open floor plan with traditional bungalow highlights filled with natural light.
